TESTING PROCESS
Exams are generated based on objective measurements. The exams are
hands-on labs which require test-takers to apply multiple skills and
sources of knowledge. Questions are chosen for their ability to
provoke efficient knowledge application as well as clarity to
non-native, English readers. The exams are 4 hours long and in a
multiple-choice format. The exams are generated in accordance to the
Test Data Center which is housed and administrated by
La Salle
URL University, Barcelona, and managed for
proper access control with the assistance of
ISECOM Associates.
ISECOM requires that all certification exams be "real-world
compatible". For this reason, all exams are open book and the test
takers may use the full resources of the Internet if available or any
materials brought or provided. Another benefit is that the test takers
are free to use any
testing tools they are comfortable with on any operating system they
can provide if the default install is not acceptible. The only
exceptions to the real-world compatibility requirements are for proper
skill and knowledge measurement by not allowing communication either
online or in the classroom and not allowing automated tools in
knowledge management or security verification during the exam.
All exams are available separate from the training courses. No person
is required to take the training course to sit for the exam.
